Turkey-born, Los Angeles-bred

Hello friends, I am Selin and the face behind Sockmate! I first started my business back in September of 2019.

Sockmate represents my fusion of fashion and graphic design. A boutique brand that I have created and curated. I grew up in the textile industry. I’m from Istanbul, Turkey, and I spent my summers and weekends helping my father at the sock factory where he worked. As a kid, I never dreamed I would end up in the textile business, in fact, I studied graphic design partly because I didn’t want to be in that industry! Life has a funny way of leading you though. Years later, I moved to the United States and eventually ended up in Los Angeles. It was in LA that I realized my skills in graphic design and my experience in textiles were perfectly suited for me to create and manage my own boutique brand of handmade items. Coincidentally, socks and footwear were an area that I could find superior quality and value for my customers. I hope you enjoy the items I have created and the collection that I have curated!
